Bruce has a private practice in Yorba Linda, California. He is the founder and director of the free dental clinic in downtown Los Angeles at The Dream Center. He has a passion for volunteer dentistry and has worked in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya and in the underserved area of Los Angeles. Monday through Thursday he works in his private practice in Yorba Linda. On Fridays, he works as a volunteer in the free clinic in Los Angeles. His wife Anita, is a marriage and family therapist (MFT) and accompanies Dr. Rogers each Friday at the clinic. They enjoy serving the needy and love to encourage young people with an interest in entering the field of dentistry. The clinics are made up of volunteers wanting to enter dentistry as a profession.
Dr. Rogers has past positions from the dental schools of UCLA and the Western University of Health Science. This has facilitated taking dental students on mission trips abroad to allow them to participate in delivering care to patients under the supervision of dental school faculty. Currently, he has 10 undergraduate students volunteering in the clinic in LA and had 13 students involved on the last trip to Africa. Several students have used their experiences as volunteers to strengthen their interest and dedication to the field of dentistry and have shown they have what it takes to enter dental school.
Dr. Rogers grew up in Rowland Heights, California but as a child lived in Papua, Indonesia. He and his family lived in a remote village in the highlands of Papua in the 1970’s. This experience at 12 years old, influenced him into ”giving back” and “trying to make a difference”.
He attended Biola University, in La Mirada, California where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biological science (1986). He then attended Loma Linda University for his training in dentistry and graduated in 1991. He has a family practice dental office and enjoys all aspects of general dentistry.
In his free time Dr. Rogers likes to surf and paddle board in San Clemente and travel with family.
